For the 2019 Circle of Light festival, we worked in Ostankino Park as invited artists and created several site-specific light installations connected to the forest environment. One of the key images was built around “animation in the dark forest”: butterfly figures made of glowing threads were arranged in motion phases, turning into a kind of frame-by-frame spatial animation driven by a custom controller.
The second part of the project focused on magical hollows hidden inside the park. There we used controllable LED strips, custom controllers, dedicated decor, and smoke machines to create the feeling of a luminous life hidden inside the trees. The result was not a single central stage but a walking route environment where technology served atmosphere and the sensation of being inside a night forest.
