For the 2017 Circle of Light festival, we created the competition work “Kedr” for the Art Vision Modern programme. The piece was shown on the facade of the Maly Theatre, so the project was built around the plasticity of a classical building and the challenge of fitting a contemporary visual language into the strict symmetry of a historic stage-like facade.
Within that framework, we did experiment with digital image processing and unusual texture, but the main focus remained a competitive statement for a large urban audience: a short, coherent mapping work designed for a festival presentation in central Moscow.
